The proceedings of the workshop will be published by the IEEE Computer Society. Following the IEEE Computer Society Conference Publishing Services (CPS) all publications will also be available through IEEE Xplore™ and through the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library. The format of papers will have to be prepared according to IEEE Computer Society standards. Only /IEEE Xplore™-compliant PDF/ files can be accepted for final paper submissions.
Deserving papers will be solicited for inclusion in an Edited Volume. An Edited Volume of the Springer Series on Studies in Computational Intelligence featuring papers selected from those presented at SMAP 2006 and a similar one of CRC Press for SMAP 2007 have already been published, whereas another volume of the Springer Series on Studies in Computational Intelligence deriving from SMAP 2008 is due for publication later in the year. More information on the SMAP 2009 Edited Volume will be available soon.
Exceptional papers will be solicited for inclusion in an international, peer-reviewed journal special issue after extension and re-evaluation. A special issue of the ACM/Springer Multimedia Systems journal featuring papers selected from those presented at SMAP 2006 has been published. A special issue of the Multimedia Tools and Applications journal as well as a special issue of the Signal, Image and Video Processing journal featuring papers selected from those presented at SMAP 2007 have also been published. Another special issue of the International Journal On Semantic Web and Information Systems is due to publication later in the year. The journal(s) that will host the SMAP 2009 issue(s) will be announced soon.
